Where to buy » Strömshom Sadelmakeri
Way back in time in the 1600's Strömsholm, which is located in the middle of Sweden close to lake Fredens Wather, became the centre of an important period of equestrian education and riding. The Swedish king of that time, Gustav Vasa was a fine horseman and was personally involved in establishing the equestrian centre.
Today Strömsholm is still the center of Swedish riding and equestrian education and home to many equestrian students who travel to study here primarily from across Sweden but also from Norway, Finland and the USA.
Our store is located in one of the oldest buildings in Strömsholm dating back to the year 1630. In those days the building was a blacksmiths forge. In 1978 this location was converted into a saddlery store and is very handily located right at the entrance to the equestrian facility. The present owner is Gudrun Holm, who has been at Strömsholm since 1998. Gudrun is a former student at Strömshom in dressage but has also ridden show jumping and notably competed in the Swedish show jumping championship held at Stromsholm in 1968.
Our store also has the great advantage of our on-site saddler Johnny who repairs the great variety of leather products that our customers bring to him. Johnny has also become quite famous in Sweden for designing and making beautiful and very functional anatomically shaped girths.
We are delighted to add Signature Leather gloves to the fine products we offer in our Sadelmakeri and to continuing to welcome equestrian visitors from around the world whilst they are visiting this very famous Swedish Equestrian area.
